When did Grunge actually die? In ’94 with Cobain? ’02 with Staley? Or did it never die?
Whatever the case, ghost of baltimore has never really parted with the Seattle sound – but chose to give it their own twist. The colourful trio, consisting of guitarist and vocalist Ömer, drummer Elisa and bassist Tobi, combines the distinctly rough sound of the 90’s with Pop-Punk elements and their very own optimism: Dark nihilism simply works best when mixed with a romanticised nostalgia for summer and the joie de vivre.
The results are part autobiographic, part political and always genuine. Is this still Grunge?
Honestly, who cares?
